A Guide to Bird Watching in National Parks

A national park is a federally protected piece of land set aside for the purposes of conservation and preservation. For this very reason, bird watching in national parks is a popular hobby among nature lovers. Birds flock to national parks for breeding, migration and habitation purposes. For example, Acadia National Park in Maine is home to 338 different species of bird. Herons, sandpipers, eiders, warblers and more make this park their home.
In Virginia you will find the Blue Ridge Parkway. This protected stretch of land is the habitat of many beautiful birds. Examples of what you may find include owls, green warblers, kinglets and other species either live in this area or at least pass through during migration season. In Arkansas is the Buffalo National River area. Birds found here include Blue Herons, Bald Eagles, an incredible array of songbirds, and more. There are at least 200 different species in this area of the state. You will find that every state has its own array of beautiful and fascinating birds.
